4 Ways to STAND OUT at Your Next Trade Show

  • Jul 22, 2019

Did you know that 41% of marketers believe that trade shows are the single-most effective marketing channel over digital advertising, email marketing and content marketing?

With this in mind, 30% marketers increased their event budgets in 2019 to help maximize the ROI on this important marketing channel.

Walking down the aisle at a trade show is always a bit overwhelming. There’s so much to look at and see! 76% of trade show attendees go there with an agenda in mind. So what can you do to ensure that they really see what you are offering and your booth isn’t skipped over?
1.    Make Your Booth Visually Appealing
How many times have you seen a booth that looks thrown together at the last minute with outdated signage, poor color choices or a messy table top? Assess your booth set up and build booth upgrades into your annual budget.
Use literature stands to keep handouts and brochures organized.
Customize your retractable banners for each event. These banners are super budget-friendly and have quick turnaround times.
If your trade show display is feeling a bit outdated, consider replacing the graphics and installing new panels or overlays. This is a budget-friendly solution if you like the overall structure of your existing booth.
If your trade show booth needs more updating than a simple logo switch or added banner stand, it may be time for a cohesive booth overhaul. There are lots of options available!
2.    Play a Game
There are tons of fun games you can use to get people that may not otherwise stop by your booth to come in and stay a while. If you want to go really big, there are some great rental options available too. Or, try a custom branded game that you can take to every event.
3.    Provide a Place to Rest & Recharge
Have you ever noticed that mobile phone batteries drain quicker than usual at trade shows? Crowded events cause extra traffic for cell phone networks. Not only is the usage in a small area more concentrated, but the increased number of people can also make it more difficult for your cell phone to find a signal. Help attendees charge back up with simple charging stations. Pair with additional seating options for tired feet and you will find people flocking to your booth!
4.    Don't Forget the Giveaways!
Multiple surveys have shown that booths that have some kind of engaging free giveaway are more successful than those that do not.  If possible, design your giveaways to be part of the display and just as eye-catching and noticeable as everything else at your booth. What's really great about giveaways is that people take them home or to the office and use them - helping to keep your brand "top of mind"!
Trade shows are a great place to attract new customers, show off what you’re all about, and get the word out about your business.

With 66% of trade show attendees rating their booth visits as very or extremely valuable in evaluating or comparing offerings for future purchases, you don't want to overlook trade shows in your marketing plans.
